Search General Ledger Accounts

General ledger accounts can be added as needed.  In addition, basic account details, or bank account details if applicable, can be revised easily as well


To Add a Search for a  General Ledger Account:

1.  Select the "Accounting" menu, then "General Ledger Accounts" and Search General Ledger Accounts" to access the General Ledger Accounts screen.  By default, all General Ledger accounts will display. Use the page numbers to scroll through the accounts search list.

2.  You can filter the General Ledger Accounts displayed in the list by entering search criteria on the top portion of the screen.  Enter the first characters of the Account Number and/or Account Name and use the to filter and select an GL Account Type and/or GL Report Group.

3. To access an account from the list, click the account number listed in the Account No. column.

You can also Sort the General Ledger Account list further by using the Sort command:

1.  Click the  button to open a sort help box shown below:

2.  Rank each of the sort criteria that you wish to use, using 1 for the first sort, 2 for the second, etc.

3.  Click  to save your sort criteria and return to the General Ledger Accounts screen.  

4.  Click  to resort your data based on your sort criteria.


To Delete a General Ledger Account:

1.  Select the "Accounting" menu, then "General Ledger Accounts" and Search General Ledger Accounts" to access the General Ledger Accounts screen. 

2.  Scroll through or filter the list to display the General Ledger account you wish to delete.

3.  Click the box to the left of the account number you wish to delete and click  to delete the desired account.

Note - you cannot delete an account that has postings made against it.  


To Inactivate a General Ledger Account:


1.  Select the "Accounting" menu, then "General Ledger Accounts" and Search General Ledger Accounts" to access the General Ledger Accounts screen. 

2.  Scroll through or filter the list to display the General Ledger account you wish make inactive.

3.  Click the box to the left of the account number you wish to make inactive and click  to inactivate the desired account.

Note - the reactivate an account, search for the account making sure the  box is clicked.  Click on the account number of the account you wish to activate and click the  box and click  to save your change.
